Trichter
Photo essay ● 2025
Trichter stems from an exploration of an ambiguous feeling: the desire to belong to a place and to traditions that, apparently, have nothing to do with me.
As if it were the remnant of a past life, a vague memory of what we might have been, or the desire for what we wish to become. Tradition thus becomes a need for continuity and recognition, a way of feeling part of a group.
In a society that constantly consumes symbols of tradition because it no longer shares any that are truly collective, I immerse myself in the tradition of Alpine horns in Switzerland to explore their symbolic power and to attempt to feel part of something that does not belong to me. Engaging with other people’s traditions thus becomes a way of questioning the desire for belonging.
